Hi Katokatha,
Thank you so much for your comments....part of the story is true...my grandmother had a huge orchard and cottage at Dehradun which was occupied by one such lady and she refused to vacate.  I grew up on stories about her whimsical behaviour and the tricks my aunt and mom had tried to get her out of the cottage....
Nice to see you here....

You have a nice lucid way of writing which I appreciate very much. The unfolding of the story is steeped in the beauty of the Cosy cottage and its suroundings. Moreover your story rightly wrongs the age-old belief that it is always a woman who has to move out when she marries. But, then even if some men agree to do the reverse it's again becoz of property and other issues. Here it was more a love of nature though! An again your story reveals how bad tenancy laws are in our country.
A very nicely written story indeed!

warm regards,

Hi Girish,
Welcome back! Oh, the tenancy and inheritance laws are putties in the hands of the devious and innovative minds, in our country....

Haha! That was a really funny story, it reduces all tenancy and inheritance laws to mere putty!
Sorry to be so late in commenting, I was on vacation and away from a PC for a long, long time!

Girish
