Dear Friends,
Bon Jour!
Yes, I am back from Paris and this happens to be my 100th post so I am celebrating two things - coming back home and hitting a century......ooooh! I almost forgot...there are 3 things to celebrate..
My latest book 'Boots, Belts, Beret' published by IndiaInk is also out...it is reviewed in The Hindu - 4th May.
Now, here's another secret...
I was invited to Paris to attend the unveiling of Shahrukh Khan's wax replica at Musee Grevin....So the trip was mainly about that but I did see a bit of Paris including a Champagne and Revue at the famous Lido...
Here are a couple of photographs I took of the wax museum and Shahrukh. Will post details about the trip in a while.....
This is the exterior of Musee Grevin where the event took place on 28th April morning
Shahrukh poses with his wax replica and with him is the famous presenter of the TV serial 'Who'll be a Millionaire'.
The Wax statue of young Mozart playing the piano.
I was surprised to see so many fans of the stars waiting for him since 8 in the morning (he was scheduled to arrive only at 10 am). And it was drizzling!
The crowd went berserk each time a car arrived. They were singing songs from Om Shanti Om and chanting his name
The Indian Ambassador to France, Mr. Ranjan Mathai arriving at Musee Grevin, with Beatrice De Reynies, the Managing Director of the museum
The wax statue of Marilyn Monroe at Musee Grevin
Shahrukh addressed the invitees after the unveiling of his wax statue
Surprise! Surprise! Riteish Deshmukh had also accompanied the star (we also found him attending the show at Lido, later that night)
The Glamourous wife - Gauri Khan
And the loyal buddy - Karan Johar....
Shahrukh at his witty best!
Wait for my post on the details of the event......
Cheerio!!!
